Linda was admitted as a solicitor in England and Wales in May 2010, having previously qualified as a lawyer in Germany in 2007. Recently, she has qualified as a Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE).

 

She worked from 2007 until 2009 as a German lawyer for an international law firm in London and Shanghai on two high profile investigations by US authorities into a European client’s compliance with US laws and regulations concerning corruption and bribery. She gained valuable experience in the areas of business crime litigation, commercial and corporate fraud litigation, and regulatory investigations.

 

From 2009 until 2012 Linda worked for a re-owned criminal defense law firm in London where she mainly dealt with matters relating to corporate manslaughter, health & safety, fire safety and Coroner’s Inquests, but also with business and general crime as well as with requests for mutual legal assistance between Germany and the UK, authorization with the FSA (now FCA) and multi-jurisdictional matters in respect to South America.

 

In the period from 2013 until 2016, as part of BP International’s multi-disciplinary Business Integrity Team and subsequently as integral part of Tullow Oil’s Compliance and Legal Team, Linda lead and assisted in significant group level investigations into allegations of bribery, corruption, major fraud, money-laundering, competition/anti-trust law breaches, serious misconduct and breaches of BP’s Code of Conduct and Tullow Oil’s Code of Ethical Conduct and other relevant laws and regulations, such as the UK Bribery Act, Fraud Act and Money Laundering Regulations. She also was decisively involved in the enhancement of Tullow’s compliance and fraud prevention program.

 

Linda graduated at Westfälische Wilhelms University in Muenster, Germany. She was awarded an Erasmus scholarship and studied International Law, Comparative Constitutional Law and Comparative Civil Law at the University of Perugia in Italy. As a trainee solicitor, Linda also acted for German citizens who had been arrested in Venezuela and supported German prisoners in Venezuela by ensuring fair treatment.

 

At ZIMMERs at present, Linda deals with civil litigation matters and in particular advises and assists clients in criminal law.
